Technology Management and Design

Endorsed Supplier

In October 2004 Atamo attained Endorsed Supplier status (ICT Multi Use List) for work with the Commonwealthesa government, in the area of expertise of telecommunications network and system design.

How did Atamo achieve this status?

As you can see from our history, Atamo has a lot of experience in developing electronics products, in particular in the telecoms industry. The Commonwealth has outfitted all Australian embassies around the world with data and voice links manufactured by the former Jtec Pty Limited. The Canberra ICON project provides a number of fibre optic rings around Parliament Hill, using equipment designed and developed under teams that were managed by Atamo principals.

Earlier in 2004 Atamo undertook a three-month study for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to review their network operations, the international network which also supports other government deparments abroad, within Australia, and within Canberra. What does the status mean?

The ICT Multi Use List provides pre-qualification for businesses in the Information Technology industry to sell to the Commonwealth Government. Use of suppliers under the ICTMUL is mandatory for Commonwealth Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 (FMA Act) agencies.

This ensures that these agencies deal only with business, which are:

  • Financially viable - able to continue trading for the foreseeable future, possess sufficient reserves to honour reasonable Commonwealth contract obligations and adequate levels of ordinary equity and retained earnings to meet business needs. (These assessments are conducted in accordance to Australian Law and Australian Accounting Standards)
  • Committed contributors to the development of their industry - through demonstrated success in the fields of export, research and development or development of strategic relationships.
  • Proven deliverers of quality products and/or services - businesses must provide favorable referee reports, which demonstrate their ability to meet deadlines and deliver high quality products and services which provide a maximum return on investment for the customer.
  • Compliant with agreed industry standards - Atamo belongs to a number of Professional Associations to promote best practice in its fields of endeavour.
  • In agreement and adherence to the Endorsement rules - including the Government Information Technology and Communication framework, version 4 (GITC4).
