• Atamo designs products for its clients.

Atamo designs electronic products. The company was founded in 2002 by a group of 6 professionals who had already worked together for 16 years designing equipment for the networks of leading international telecommunications companies.

Our vision was to build an Australian design house that would help clients take their ideas from concepts to customers.  Our experience has taught us that developing and commercialising new products is hard work. It draws on a range of skills and experiences that simply aren’t available in many companies.  We thought that our skills and experiences would help our clients to bring more Australian-designed products to market.

And it did.  In the past 8 years, we have successfully completed projects for nearly 50 different clients, and have started to train a new generation of engineers in the wide range of skills required to turn product ideas into commercially valuable products.

  • Case Study: Do one thing and do it well.

The Wetronome is a waterproof device that helps swimmers improve the pace of their stroke.

Atamo’s own Andrew Holmes took his personal experiences training with his swim squad and his observation that the fitness market was full of gadgets that were more about the gadget than training for the sport. There were too many functions crammed into devices, detailed user manuals and plenty of small print.

Andrew came up with the refreshing idea of the Wetronome. The device was a simplified, button-less and easy-to-configure unit that fits under a swim-goggle strap.
